Something to think about; Americans spend more on holiday CANDY than the combined budgets of the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, and Habitat for Humanity combined.
Now imagine Americans spending that money on things like local charities, helping someone they know (or don’t) in their community who is struggling with food needs, maybe a car repair so they can get to work or medical appointments, warm clothing for those that can’t afford it, RENT.
We all know someone who may be in one or all of the positions mentioned. Instead what we have are people who are buying candy, donating to a “multi-billionaire” who lost an election to help him with legal costs, hoarding toilet paper … I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture.
So, think about this when you or your kids are unwrapping that PS5, iPhone 12 Pro, Nintendo Switch that you/they got for Christmas because someone out there is going without basic human needs, and not for lack of trying.
