Fifth Annual Winter Solstice Yoga Nidra ~ Sacred Intentions
Fifth Annual Winter Solstice Yoga Nidra ~ Sacred Intention Setting for 2021
with LIVE music by special guest Kenji Stasiewicz
Come sink in to your Self as we ground and meditate in community to discover your intentions, followed by a guided meditative Journey through the layers of your being to release blockages and sow the seeds of your intentions into the fertile soil of your subconscious mind.
We begin with a brief Journey into the Heart to discover your Sat Sankalpa, or Sacred Resolve. Different than a New Year’s Resolution, this resolve is a sacred intention we set for how we choose to show up in our lives – for ourselves as well as in support of our families and communities. This resolve is more focused on how we want to BE than what we want to DO.
There will be discussion and guidance to help you discover your Sat Sankalpa, followed by a practice of Yoga Nidra, or Psychic Sleep. This is an ancient method of deep meditation to relax the body and mind as we sow the seeds of this resolve into our subconscious and hold space for healing and release. Our guided meditative journey will take us through the layers (or Koshas) of our being as seen through the lens of Yoga – physical (Anamayakosha), energetic (Pranamayakosha), mental/emotional (Manomayakosha), intellect/intuitive (Vijnanamayakosha), and bliss (Anandamayakosha).
Most of our time together will be spent in stillness, and comfort is essential! Please have a soft space to lie down (a bed is great, couch is fine, or a yoga mat space), and anything else you might desire to create a cozy nest (more pillows!!). If you have yoga props, such as bolsters or blocks, please have those handy as well. You will also need a journal, writing utensil, water, a sacred space/altar, a candle (or several), and an open heart.
We’ll meet online on Saturday December 19th, 4-6pm (doors open at 3:45 for you to come settle in and do a tech check).
