CCA Summer Camp – Stitch and Measure, Trash to Treasure
Registration for CCA Summer Art Camps is LIVE. In partnership with Arts in Education of the Gorge, this summer Columbia Center for the Arts (CCA) is providing both visual arts and theatre summer camps for youth in grades 2nd-5th to engage and empower them in the creative process where young people will explore their natural creative gifts and learn new techniques to build confidence and skills.
Teachers: Jess Graff & Lise Larsen
For Ages: 4th and 5th grade
Times/Locations: 9:00a – 3:00p in Hood River / 9:00a – 4:30p The Dalles
Join mixed-media artist and educator Jess Graff and Art Teacher Lise Larsen for a 5 day art camp of creativity and connection. Participants will create objects out of recycled objects, learn sewing skills, use hand tools and explore materials such as fabric, plastic, cardboards, metal, fibers, and other reusable items; all with ample help from adults. Participants will play and experiment with dozens of new materials to build their own wearable treasures, as well as collaborate to create a group artwork for the art center. With plenty of math and science for good measure, this camp will bring out the inner fashion designer, builder, and artist.
