CCA Summer Camp – Rhythm and Blues, Drums and Paintings
Registration for CCA Summer Art Camps is LIVE. In partnership with Arts in Education of the Gorge, this summer Columbia Center for the Arts (CCA) is providing both visual arts and theatre summer camps for youth in grades 2nd-5th to engage and empower them in the creative process where young people will explore their natural creative gifts and learn new techniques to build confidence and skills.
Teachers: Tim Snyder, Molly Holmlund
For Ages: 2nd and 3rd grade
Times/Locations: 9:00a – 3:00p in Hood River / 9:00a – 4:30p The Dalles
Join artists Molly Holmlund and Tim Snyder for a week of drumming, drawing, watercolor and music. In this five day camp learners will draw and experiment with watercolor exploring color through rhythms to make for a fun and lively experience. Students will use drumsticks, bucket drums, pencils, watercolor and other multimedia. An introduction to visual thinking strategies helps campers respond to artworks by professional artists and encourages imagination and sense of wonder. This creative art-lovers camp will bring learners home ready to dance into dreamland.
